Mitsubishi cars in the National Capital Region
Mitsubishi has been in the Philippines for more than 50 years. It is currently the second largest car producer in the country, next only to the long time leader Toyota. The competitive auto company has a wide lineup of cars and commercial vehicles which are known to be priced marginally lower than most other Japanese and American brands.
Currently, Mitsubishi has a 21 percent share of the Philippine automotive industry. Aside from Toyota its other tough competitors are Honda, Hyundai and Ford. In its mid-year sales report for 2013 it sold more than 28,000 brand new units.
Mitsubishi cars in Metro Manila
Metro Manila is a known territory for cars and commercial vehicles from this company. There is a good chance that any street in the Metro has at least one Mitsubishi branded car on it.
Mitsubishi’s commercial vehicle division Fuso-Canter is also one of the most common brands for light duty and heavy trucks. The Fuso-Canter brand prides itself for having one of the longest warranty periods in the commercial vehicle segment.
Impressive sales performance
In a list of the most sold brand new car models for 2013, Mitsubishi placed three of its car models. The sports utility vehicle (SUVs) Mitsubishi Montero Sport placed second behind the Toyota Vios while the Mitsubishi Adventure clutched 5th place.
Curiously, the newly re-launched subcompact hatchback Mitsubishi Mirage broke into the list at number seven. The Mirage line also has a five-seater compact sedan called the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 which has a larger dimension than the subcompact.
The legendary Lancer
The Mitsubishi Lancer is arguably the longest running nameplate of compact or midsize cars in the Philippines. This car series started production in 1973 and has been one of the pioneers of family and passenger cars in the Philippines. Mitsubishi relaunched the Lancer line and called it the Mitsubishi Lancer EX to differentiate it from other units released before 2008.
Mitsubishi car dealers in the Metro
Mitsubishi has at least 14 affiliated dealerships scattered throughout Metro Manila which have showrooms showcasing their current inventory and newest models. Among them are Citimotors, Diamond Motor Corp, Union Motors and Peak Motors.
