Komatsu heavy equipment for sale in the Philippines

Komatsu is a Japanese multinational corporation that develops heavy equipment and machinery for mining and construction. The firms’ construction products are aimed at emerging markets such as the Philippines. Today the brand is recognized as the second largest supplier of mining and construction equipment in the world.

The company started out as a local manufacturer of mining equipment in 1921. It has sold its wide range of automotive products to over 100 countries, supplying them to industries such as forestry, construction, agriculture and even urban infrastructure projects.

Technology and innovation

Over the decades, the Japanese firm has come up with innovative technologies which have expanded their time-tested portfolio. One of them is their version of the Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) system which features variable controls of volume and airflow that optimally supply air based on the engine’s load conditions.

In an attempt to provide cleaner engines, Komatsu has also come up with the Heavy Duty Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system which reuses a portion of the exhaust gas to reduce Nitrogen Oxide emissions through combustion. It also comes with a cooler to ensure a longer and more stable performance of their construction equipment even when under demanding conditions.

Komatsu has been in the country for more than 30 years and has hired hundreds of Filipino employees in the country. The Philippines was also the first site outside of Japan to have a Komatsu training institute.

Popular Komatsu models

The Japanese brand offers a wide variety of commercial vehicles from trucks to heavy equipment, with the Komatsu excavator being one of their most popular models. Some of their other well-known products include:

The Komatsu FD is a line of forklifts that are used mainly in warehouse operations moving crates and boxes. This diesel powered machine sports an output of 147 horsepower and can lift 10 tons of cargo.

The Komatsu GD is a four-wheel or six-wheel grader used to remove obstacles from the ground and is primarily used in the industries of agriculture and construction. It has a wide number of variants including the 663A-2 which has an output of 180 horsepower and a blade length of 3.71 meters.

The Komatsu PC is a line of excavators meant for heavy-duty mining operations. It has multiple body configurations from backhoe to truckhoe. It has a hydraulic front shovel which can pick up large amounts of dirt. One of its more popular variants is the enormous PC 8000.

Outlining a larger series of cargo carriers is the Komatsu Forklift line. One of the models under this series is the FD. Komatsu’s forklifts are known worldwide for their quality build and large lifting power which makes them valuable machines in construction.
