3 Additional Lanes on Commonwealth Avenue Almost Complete
The three additional lanes the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing along Commonwealth Avenue between Zuzurueggi Street and Vila Beatriz Street is reportedly almost 90 percent complete.
Measuring 350 lineal meters, the P41 million project hopes to decongest the traffic on Commonwealth Avenue--one of the busiest thoroughfares in Metro Manila--and involves the construction of sidewalk "for the safety of pedestrians."
"We want to fully-utilize our road space so we are closely coordinating with other government agencies and private entities for the soonest possible relocation of informal settler families and utilities in the project area," said DPWH-National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro.
