5 New Things You’ll See in the 2018 Kia Sportage
Kia has revealed the 2018 Euro-spec Sportage and it features several design and powertrain updates. One of the noticeable changes can be seen at the vehicle's front end, a key area that sets it apart from its predecessor.
The updates don't end there and here are the 5 new things integrated with the Kia Sportage.
1. Updated exterior design
As said earlier, one of the noticeable changes in the Sportage is seen at its front end. It has a new headlight design as well as a revamped bumper and fog lamps. The bumper gets a chrome trim while the fog lamps are now more conservatively designed. Moreover, the Sportage's “tiger-nose” grille appears to be tweaked and gets a glossy finish. The side profile still looks the same but, if you look closely, you’ll see that the 2018 Sportage comes with reshaped side mirrors. The rear, on the other hand, remains unchanged except for the taillights.
2. 2. New wheels
The Sportage is available in new 16-, 17-, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The 19-inch wheels, however, is exclusive to the Sportage's top-of-the-line variant, the GT-Line.
3. Refreshed interior
The refreshed interior of the Sportage features an updated instrument cluster along with a new steering wheel. Kia says the vehicle also comes with a two-tone upholstery as well as a seven-inch and an eight-inch infotainment system options.
4.
4. Added safety tech
The 2018 Sportage comes with Kia's advanced driving assistance systems. This includes adaptive cruise control, around view monitor, and driver attention warning. The around view monitor is like a 360-degree view of the car's surroundings. This feature is useful when you're parking.
5. Upgraded engine
Kia is offering a new power unit for the Euro-spec Sportage. It’s a 2.0-liter diesel mild-hybrid engine, a four-cylinder turbodiesel featuring a 48-volt battery. The 1.7-liter diesel engine will also be axed in Europe and it is replaced with a 1.6-liter diesel engine. Of note, the 2018 Sportage is first revealed in Europe and sales will begin during the third quarter. We don't know yet if and when will Kia Philippines launch this vehicle in the market. We'll give you an update as soon we have fresh details.
