Audi PH Introduces Audi Q2 as Newest Member in its Roster

Audi Philippines on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, unveiled the newest member in its lineup to complete the Q roster in the country: the Audi Q2. Dubbed as the "untaggable," the Q2 is the smallest vehicle in its Q line-up. Revealed at the Audi showroom in Greenhills, San Juan, the Audi Q2--despite its size--has quite a handful of amenities to offer.

Audi Philippines head Benedicto Coyiuto said that the addition of the Q2 in the company's lineup was its way of venturing into a new market segment. "Whether it is used as an off-road adventure or for everyday driving in the city, the Q2 is the all-around vehicle, with youthful, provocative design and high-tech equipment." Despite being the newest model in the Audi lineup, the Q2 already earned notable recognitions such as the 'German Design Award for Excellent Production Design-Transportation,' the 'Best of the Best' award of the Automotive Brand Contest in 2016 and the 'Best Compact Vehicle' in the Golden Steering Wheel Awards. Powered by 1.0-liter, three cylinder, TFSI engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission, the front-wheel drive pocket rocket Audi Q2 packs quite a punch: it can reach to up to 197 kph and can accelerate  from 0-100 kph in 10.1 seconds. The Euro 6-compliant engine also provides 116 hp and 200Nm of torque. The Audi Q2 is 1.51 meters tall, 1.79 meters wide and 4.19 meters long, with a wheelbase of 2.60 meters, placing its size between that of a sedan and an SUV. Giving it more dash on its sporty look is the 18-inch alloy wheels. Adding to its athletic look, the Ingolstadt-based premium carmaker put the Audi S3's steering wheel on its smaller sibling. Also, the Audi Q2 comes with a standard 5.8-inch multi-media interface (MMI) screen. Operated by a rotary/push button control and two buttons on the center tunnel, the MMI can be controlled by natural language operation and integrated MMI search, giving it a futuristic feel. Available in six colors (Mythos Black, Glacier White, Quantum Grey, Tango Red, Vegas Yellow and Coral Orange), the price of the Audi Q2 starts at P2.780 million for the design variant and P2.990 million for the S Line variants as of July 2017.
