Castrol Prepares for Upcoming 2019 Partner for Life Super Mechanic Contest National Finals

Castrol Philippines is gearing up to hold its 2019 Partner for Life (PFL) Program’s National Final event on December 8, Sunday, at the Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City. The culminating event, which will determine the next batch of Partner for Life Super Mechanic Contest National champions, will be open to the public where interested mechanics and bike enthusiasts can participate and enjoy on-ground activities. The 2019 Partner for Life advocacy program, which began in 2014, has engaged Filipino motorbike mechanics nationwide to enhance their skills, knowledge, and expertise on two-wheeler mechanics and new technologies. Over 4,500 participating mechanics and shop owners have undergone Castrol’s extensive training modules, a notable increase from last year’s 4000 participants. Topics focused on Advanced EFI training and Motorcycle Engine Repairs and Leakage troubleshooting in partnership with Pioneer Adhesives Inc. “This year’s Partner for Life has seen a drastic increase in participating mechanics, as a result of the advocacy program’s effort to widen its reach across the country. The outcome has presented a greater opportunity for Castrol to engage more mechanics and create further impact by equipping them with updated professional competency and knowledge around motorcycle maintenance,” said Maria Tañada, Country Leader, Castrol Philippines. “It brings us much excitement and anticipation to find out which among these talented teams will emerge as the 2019 Castrol Super Mechanics,” she added. Castrol has held its Partner for Life courses in over 80 training centers throughout the Philippines, with expansion to areas that have shown strong motorcycle growth such as Ormoc, Surigao, and most of the Mindanao region. Each center identifies top performing teams in written exams and practical tests, who are then put through a troubleshooting portion as the final round. The Partner for Life 2019 National Finals will be open to the public and is happening on December 8, 2019. This year’s finale will feature a highly challenging and technical competition from Q&A, quick maintenance round, and a final troubleshooting round. Winners and their respective shop owner will take home the title of “2019 Castrol Super Mechanics” and one motorcycle per team member. All participating mechanics at the same time can expect to gain greater knowledge and expertise on motorcycles, which they can apply into their practice. Non-participating mechanics on the other hand, who are interested in Partner for Life, are highly encouraged to join the National Final event where they can learn about the advocacy program, its benefits and opportunities, and participate in other exciting activities Castrol has prepared for these valued partner mechanics!
