The diesel-powered Countryman, which was launched this year, is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo Diesel Engine that generates 150 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque, enough to provide superb acceleration and fuel economy especially in ordinary driving conditions.

To test the fuel mileage of each vehicle, representatives from DOE and members of the media, which served as official observers during the event, set a normal speed for each car, where they need to travel at a controlled speed of 80 kilometers per hour.
The Fuel Economy Run started at Petron Service Station in Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, passing through SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway) and TPLEX (Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union expressway) and taking the exit at Binalonan, Pangasinan, before heading back to Petron in Clark to check and compute the fuel consumption that every car accumulated.
The diesel-fed Countryman proved its worth in the long-distance drive as well, thanks to its MacPherson Strut axle at front and multi-links at the rear.
“With the congested traffic, it’s so important that we get involved in how our vehicles perform on traffic and the cost that it attributes in a long run,” claims Tee Ten.
