Grab Introduces In-Car Entertainment to Users
With its goal to ever improve on its services, Grab Philippines now seeks to equip select vehicles in its fleet with media screens to bring in-car entertainment to its users.
The initiative is made possible by Grab's partnership with IDOOH International, an out-of-home (OOH) media technology company and Asia Pacific's biggest provider of in-vehicle screens.
Carefully selected Grab fleet members will be installed with fully-interactive, 10-inch display tablets to provide passengers with a range of videos on lifestyle, entertainment, news, and e-commerce.
"As an everyday app, we always look for ways to improve the experience of both passengers and drivers," said Steven Martin Luchangco, head of Grab for Business in the Philippines. "Thanks to our partnership with IDOOH, passengers will be able to discover, engage with, and receive deals from quality brands."
“At the same time, it allows our drivers to have additional sources of income. We look forward to working hand-in-hand with IDOOH to create meaningful customer engagement for brands that lets them have the edge over their competitors and reach their audience," Luchangco added.
According to Grab, the monetary incentives and rewards that the Grab drivers will receive from the use of the screens will be based on the duration of screen activation along with their number of completed trips.
A Facebook post from IDOOH reads:
"IDOOH International today announced its partnership with Grab Philippines to deploy IDOOH's interactive display tablets in GrabCars, transforming the commute experience through intuitive media, entertainment and e-commerce. The partnership will also provide brands with a comprehensive out-of-home branding platform and reward drivers with an additional revenue source."
