Grab PH Now in Subic
Grab Philippines launched on Tuesday, November 27, its GrabTaxi service at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) in Subic, Zambales to cater to the transportation needs of residents and tourists in the area.
Grab Philippines Country Head Brian Cu said that the ride-sharing service has accredited, trained and equipped a total of 120 taxi driver-partners with the Grab mobile app to provide reliable transportation services to clients within the booming freeport.
“As the everyday app, we at Grab believe in the smart cities of tomorrow and introducing our technology to Subic brings it closer to its vision of building its very own smart city,” Cu said. “With GrabTaxi now in place, locals and tourists will now have a more convenient, safer, and faster way of commuting.”
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Administrator Wilma Eisma said that the new taxi service will be a boon to the employees of more than 1,600 business locators in the area.
“Having Grab as a partner to drive Subic to become a smart city is truly a blessing,” said Eisma. “We share the same goal of providing convenience to Filipinos. GrabTaxi can make a difference in the lives of locals and tourists in Subic.”
The riding public in SBFZ can now book a Grab taxi using a mobile app or strategically located booking kiosks spread around key business areas in the freeport.
Grab is now operating in 12 cities across the country – Manila, Cebu, Davao, Pampanga, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Baguio, Bataan, Naga, Iloilo, Tacloban, and Subic.
