LTFRB Approves New Routes for PUVMP Implementation

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) recently approved 58 new routes for the implementation of the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

During the 10th LTFRB Board Meeting held last April 16, 2019, the Board approved a total of 58 routes covering Regions 2, 3, 8, 10, and 11. Of the 58 routes, 34 have been approved while the remaining 24 are subject for survey validation.

In addition, 925 authorized PUVMP-compliant units are based on approved routes and 360 units are based on routes for survey validation for a total of 1,285 PUVMP-compliant units.

These routes will be open for application for the issuance of new Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) to operate Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) in the country for the program’s initial implementation.
