LTO to Auction Off 500 Unclaimed Motor Vehicles in Region 12

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Region 12 (Soccksargen) is set to auction at least 504 impounded, unredeemed motor vehicles this July.

According to LTO-12 Assistant Director Robert Kiunisala, the auctioned vehicles will include vans, motorcycles, and taxis that were seized as of December 30, 2018 by district offices in Kabacan and Midsayap towns and Kidapawan City in North Cotabato; Polomolok and Surallah towns; and Koronadal City in South Cotabato Cotabato City.

Kiunisala also said that they will initially auction out 246 motor vehicles at their office in Koronadal City on July 10-11.

Another auction will happen on July 17-18 at the LTO district office in General Santos City, and will cover around 258 vehicles.

“We can auction unclaimed motor vehicles that have unpaid penalties of at least six months since their apprehension,” he told reporters.

The prices of the vehicles will be set by the Commission on Audit, and will vary depending on their model and quality. The  vehicles will first undergo different processes set by government regulations before they are available for auction.
