Mazda PH Sets Record Sales for First Half of 2017

Bermaz Auto Philippines (BAP), the official distributor of Mazda vehicles and parts in the country, has broken another monthly sales record as it closed July with 418 unit sales----its sixth month to break its own monthly sales record since it took over the distributorship of the brand in 2013. Mazda Philippines' year-to-date sales of 2,521 units as of July has also improved by 14.5 percent over the same period last year and is its best sales period year-over-year for the company. Helping to boost Mazda Philippines' sales are the Mazda CX-5 compact and Mazda CX-9 midsize crossovers, with Mazda Corporation Japan increasing the allocation of both vehicles locally starting this August to 800 units and 300 units, respectively, for 2017. Another vehicle that's helping to boost Mazda's local sales is the Mazda MX-5, specifically the RF retractable fastback model accounting for 85 of the 113 units sold of Mazda's popular two-seater roadster. "We are encouraged by the market's continuous strong demand for Mazda vehicles this 2017, as in the past years since Bermaz took over the distribution," BAP President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan. "Our total sales performance since January 2017 is the best it has ever been since BAP began its operations. We are looking forward to a continuous push for the second half of the year as we aim to again exceed our targets. Our latest Kodo: Soul of Motion-inspired and SKYACTIV Technology-equipped models launched only recently have been instrumental in reinvigorating the Mazda badge and establishing our position as the premium Japanese brand."
