Mini’s Wedding Gift to Prince Harry and Megan Also for a Good Cause
We all know that Mini Cooper is an iconic British brand for more than half a century already. And with Prince Harry and Meghan Merkel ready to tie the knot this May 19 at 7:00 p.m. (Philippine Time), we think it’s fitting for them to make a vehicle that’s specifically tailored just for the royal couple.
The car, which is a customized Cooper S, comes with a Crystal White shade tone. It offers hand-made, multi-colored graphic, and the country’s national flag applied by hand on the roof and rear fenders.
The engine remains the same: a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine. Standard speed still falls at around 233 kph max, and can reach 0-100 kph within 6.5 seconds.
According to Oliver Heilmer, Head of Mini Design, the car has a graphic roof with 3D-printed personalized interior and exterior details as well as special embroidery to make this “a Mini like no other.”
The car’s interior offers Satellite Grey leather, plus blue-black chrome tint accents. The front passenger seat also includes the first names of the bride and groom, together with the wedding date.
Other unique details worth noting include a “Just Married” image projected onto the ground when the door is opened. Moreover, the initials “M” and “H” with a heart and rings are seen next to the side indicators.
The royal couple requested that anyone who might wish to give them a wedding gift consider supporting the seven charities that they picked themselves. In this case, the customized Mini Cooper will be donated to Children’s HIV Association after the wedding.
