Mitsubishi PH's May 2017 Production is its Highest Ever at Over 4,000 Units
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines' (MMPC) production for May 2017 was the Japanese carmaker's highest ever since it started its operations in May 1964. From an average monthly output of 3,000 at the start of 2017, MMPC's production for May 2017 breached the 4,000-unit mark until a total of 4,323 units were produced for the month comprised of 1,703 units of the Mitsubishi Adventure, 1,577 units of the Mitsubishi L300, and 1,043 units of the Mitsubishi Mirage.
"This is a step ahead towards improving our production performance and also a great opportunity to increase confidence that we can attain our production target," said MMPC Executive Vice President for Manufacturing Yasuhiro Maruyama.
According to MMPC President and CEO Yoshiaki Kato, the production milestone was achieved through the collective efforts of MMPC employees and its business partners. He also noted that MMPC would like to keep this momentum as it enters a new stage of production volume. As to how MMPC plans to further improve its production output MMPC Production Group Head First Vice President Johnny Miaral said that the company will continuously upgrade its production processes and controls for easier planning and monitoring.
The local production of the Adventure and L300 models has reportedly generated jobs for hundreds of Filipino workers throughout the years and supported the business of local parts suppliers. To date, the Adventure and L300 models have the highest number of locally-sourced parts in the automotive industry at 67 percent and 61 percent, respectively.
