Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) will launch the
updated Mitsubishi Strada midsize pickup today, and just like we did
with an MPV that was launched earlier this week, we got in touch with our friends from different dealerships to ask around if they have the prices for it already. Ever-dependable and always eager to sell their products, they've given us the
prices of all six variants as the vehicle is formally launched locally,
just a couple of months after it was first unveiled for the region in November 2018.
So, the prices of the updated Mitsubishi Strada are as follows:
- GLX Plus 2WD MT - PHP1.165 million
- GLX Plus 2WD AT - PHP1.24 million
- GLS 2WD MT - PHP1.225 million
- GLS 2WD AT - PHP1.3 million
- GLS 4WD MT - PHP1.445 million
- GT 4WD AT - PHP1.67 million
Design-wise, the Strada adopts not just the
'Dynamic Shield' front fascia of the Montero Sport but also its
teardrop taillight design. Inside, the cabin gets a slight redesign though you might be hard-pressed to notice the difference.
Powering the updated Strada is still the
same 2.4-liter inline-four, turbocharged, direct-injection MIVEC VGT 4N15 diesel engine that puts out
179 hp and 430 Nm of torque through
either a six-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic though the GT variant gets a
six-speed auto with Sport Mode.
While Mitsubishi announced a raft of class-leading advanced active safety and driver assistance systems for the Strada, we've yet to receive word if MMPC will have them for the local models. These are the
Forward Collision Mitigation System,
Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System,
Blind Spot Warning,
Lane Change Assist, and
Rear Cross Traffic Alert, as well as the Multi Around Monitor with Guiding Line and Expected Course Line.
So, what do you think of the updated Mitsubishi Strada?
