NLEX Corporation Pavement Repair Program

The NLEX Corporation has announced that the pavement repairs for a 140,000-square-meter section of the North Luzon Expressway-Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway (NLEX-SCTEX) has been finally completed.

The pavement maintenance work for this year — which started in February — covers the asphalt overlay and patching works in 109,886-square-meter section of the NLEX and 31,600-square-meter section of the SCTEX.

According to NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luigi Bautista, the annual road repair is aimed to provide a safe and convenient driving experience for motorists

“Each year, we strive to fulfill our obligation to provide our customers with the best service. With the completion of the pavement repair program, we are optimistic that our motorists will have a safer and smoother drive,” he said.

Part of the repairs are crack mapping and sealing, pothole patching to keep the road in good condition for a seamless travel experience, and extend the road’s serviceable lifespan.

“All the enhancements that we are doing stemmed from our regular inspections and of course, from the feedback of motorists. It has been our practice to check the pulse of our customers so that anything that needs improvement must be implemented,” he added.

Earlier this year, NLEX completed the safety repairs of Pau Bridge in San Simon, Pampanga and Gumain Bridge in Floridablanca, Pampanga. It also opened the 8.2-kilometer Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) expansion that was constructed amid the pandemic and has since facilitated the more efficient flow of goods and services between the economic zones in Clark and Subic.
