This April, one of the most awaited motorsports events in the country begins another heart-pounding season. Now on its fifth iteration, the Toyota Vios Cup returns to the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga to dazzle and awe race fans from all over.
Featuring 50 racers in three race classes, this new season seeks to further spread the WAKU-DOKI or ‘fun in driving’ philosophy with a new three-leg race format along with a car specifications upgrade for the Super Sporting Class.
Toyota brings the Vios Cup back to the Metro by scheduling the second leg at Filinvest City, Alabang. The last time the event was held at the venue was back in 2016, during the Cup’s third season. The first and last leg will remain at the Clark International Speedway.
Racers in the Super Sporting Class can now enjoy specification upgrades designed to make the competition fiercer. Race cars may now adopt a lightweight hood and trunk lid to go with the TRD Rotor Disc Brakes that the latest Vios models come equipped with.
Participating celebrities from last season will rejoin this year’s race roster including the husband-and-wife tandem of Troy Montero and Aubrey Miles, sportscaster Gretchen Ho, and Japanese-Brazilian model Fabio Ide. Joining them are new celebrity racers Diego Loyzaga, Sofia Andres, Chie Filomeno, and Sam Milby.
Catch the beginning of Toyota Vios Cup Season 5 this April 28 10:00 AM at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga. The event is open to the public with free admission. Event partners include Bridgestone and ROTA, with support from Motul, Brembo, AVT, 3M, Denso, OMP, and Tuason Racing.
