Staying true to its workhorse personality, the STX has a double cradle frame type partnered with a telescopic fork front suspension and a swingarm in its rear. The STX has a dry weight of 108 kilograms and has a large fuel tank which can store 11.0 liters of gasoline.
This kick-start chain-driven motorcycle is mated with a constant mesh 4-speed transmission which allows it to have extended mileage and pure riding pleasure. The STX has also been praised for its logical shifting gears sequence and light clutch which reduces rider fatigue, while providing a smoother ride.

Yamaha sculpted the STX to traverse even the toughest terrains thanks to its above-par ride height with a minimum ground clearance of 140 mm. It comes with drum-type brakes on its front and rear. Its utilitarian body has a caster/ trail angle of 26.9 degrees which accentuates its muscular design.
The current generation of the STX has been revised to have a digital meter instrument panel. Interesting facts about the STX
The STX was designed by a Filipino named Norberto Quisumbing, Jr. who also happens to be Norkis chairman and founded the company in 1963 in Dagupan city. He thought of attaching a manually driven pedicab to a Yamaha YG1 80-cc motorcycle. It was later called as the “Super Taxi” tricycle model.
