BYD Cars PH, BPITCRC forge partnership

BYD Cars Philippines and BPI Tokyo Century Rental Corporation (BPITCRC) have forged a partnership that made the Atto 3 a part of the latter’s fleet of offerings.

Under the collaboration, the newly-acquired model can be rented and leased via Diamond Rent A Car (BPITCRC’s arm in the business).

The agreement between the two firms shall also allow them to conduct joint marketing programs and activities with the BYD Atto 3 such as the following:

• EV Full-Service Operating Lease
• Product development
• Short-term rentals
• Floor plan financing

Both BYD Cars Philippines and BPITCRC shall also communally create other initiatives that will further synergize their sustainability programs.

“We believe the experience of driving a BYD electric vehicle is essential to building a knowledge-driven market,” ACMobility Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala.

“Introducing innovation and technology is always challenging, especially when they are as groundbreaking as BYD’s electric vehicles. ACMobility, through BYD Cars Philippines, has partnered with BPI Tokyo Century to make access to BYD’s technologically superior, feature-rich, and safe electric vehicles easier for the public. The more people are aware of the virtues and rewards of sustainable mobility through electric vehicles, and the more they experience the ACMobility charging ecosystem firsthand, the easier it will be for us to progress towards an all-electric mobility future,” he added.

For his part, BPITCRC President and CEO Satoshi Matsuo said that the partnership serves as a landmark in the car rental industry.

“The BYD Atto 3 is a highly sought-after electric vehicle. Having it in our fleet allows us to provide our customers with a trial experience of a BYD EV in the hope of reinforcing their decision to go electric. Aside from being the first to provide a one-of-a-kind EV rental and leasing service with BYD vehicles, we are also one with ACMobility and BYD Cars Philippines in their vision of providing sustainable mobility for Filipinos,” he noted.

The most famous in the brand’s local lineup, the BYD Atto 3 is fitted with a permanent magnet synchronous motor that can dish out as much as 210 horses and 310 Newton-meters of torque— allowing the vehicle to go 100 kilometers per hour from standstill in 7.3 seconds.

Its BYD Blade Battery — when fully charged — lets the crossover cover up to 480 kilometers.

Offered in Surf Blue, Parkour Red, Boulder Grey, and Ski White hues, the BYD Atto 3 (which was introduced to the market late last year) can be had in two variants: Dynamic and Premium.
