Pre-Owned Mitsubishi Xpander Cross: Why Would You Want One?
The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is a subcompact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that likes to pretend it’s a sports utility vehicle. It has a 225mm ride height typical of midsize SUVs. The 7-seater even features an SUV-like exterior, sans the four-wheel drive.
Amidst its rugged shell, the Xpander Cross is a practical daily driver. It offers reliable performance and adequate storage space while giving you a premium experience and a comfortable ride.
It isn’t the cheapest option in the small MPV segment, but you can buy one at an affordable cost. At carmudi.com.ph we sell used Mitsubishi Xpander Cross models at budget-friendly prices.
2nd Hand Mitsubishi Xpander Cross for Sale: Pros and Cons
The Xpander Cross is a new model that made its Philippine debut in 2020. If you buy a pre-owned unit, it should be good-as-new.
Used Mitsubishi Xpander Cross Pros
- Upmarket SUV-esque exterior
- Classy and comfortable cabin
- Has plenty of storage and cargo space
- A/C vents double as heaters
- Better handling and performance than Mitsubishi Xpander
Used Mitsubishi Xpander Cross Cons
- Third row seats feel cramped
- Infotainment system isn’t seamless
- Safety features are too basic
- Poor fuel economy
Mitsubishi Xpander Cross Overview
On the outside, this subcompact MPV looks more like a Montero Sport. It’s longer, taller, and wider than your average Xpander. Exterior highlights include an angled front fascia, a sawtooth-patterned grille, black body cladding, roof rails, and larger 17-inch wheels.
If you happen to own an Xpander, its cabin will seem familiar. It shares the same ergonomic layout with dual analog gauges and love for hard plastics. Only this time, the dashboard gets a brown accent trim and an adjustable leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio switches and cruise control.
Seats are now covered in black-and-brown leather to compliment the cabin's new color scheme. Middle row passengers get the most wiggle room while those at the back may find it difficult to stretch their legs. There's enough storage space for everyone, however. Second and third row seats can be folded to make way for extra cargo.
Aside from the usual Bluetooth, USB, and AUX support, the 7-inch infotainment system is equipped with advanced features like smartphone mirroring, audio-video playback, GPS, and integrated parking camera view. You also get power windows, manual climate controls, second row A/C vents, and three 12V power outlets so everyone can stay connected. And did we mention that the air conditioning double as heaters?
Mitsubishi Xpander Cross packs a 1.5L engine with 103 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. Combined with automatic transmission, it easily pulls the 7-seater at full capacity. It also provides better handling and performance than the Mitsubishi Xpander thanks to its new brakes, suspension, standard stability control, traction control, and hill start assist.
Sadly, there is no built-in alarm or auto-locking doors; though it has basic safety features and an impact-absorbing fascia. Fuel consumption isn’t stellar either and averages between 8 and 13 kmpl. The fact that it runs on gas only adds up to the cost.

Used Mitsubishi Xpander Cross Additional Advice
The 2020 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is fresh out of the market. Finding a used model may not be easy at this time. However, we don’t recommend settling for a cheaper Mitsubishi Xpander GLS variant. If you want to get the most bang for your buck, buy a pre-owned Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.
