2022 MIAS: Peugeot PH forays with a four-car lineup

Peugeot Philippines launches a four-car assault at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). The local arm of the Lion brand takes its three sport utility vehicles (SUV) — the 5008, 3008, and the new 2008 — along with its passenger van — Traveller Premium — to the much-awaited automotive event.

  • What models did Peugeot showcase at the 2022 MIAS?

These are the 5008, 3008, 2008, and Traveller.
  • Until when will the models be on display at the event?

They will be on display from April 7 to 10.
  • Here, Peugeot impresses the audience with models that boast style and sophistication typical of the French carmaker.

Representing the brand’s entry into the seven-seater category are the Peugeot 5008 and the 3008.

Both SUV flaunt a frameless radiator grille flanked by full-LED headlamps with auto on/off and signature illumination daytime running lights. At the rear, the siblings share similar full-LED taillamps, likewise, with Peugeot’s signature illumination. In a display of family-oriented luxury, the 5008 and the 3008 comes with power-folding side mirrors and a power tailgate, as well as dual exhaust pipes, finished in copious chrome.

Inside are leather seats and a leather steering wheel plus a 12.3-inch head-up cluster display and a 10-inch infotainment system. And oh! they also have a sunroof with sliding sun-blind and LED ambient lighting.

Both family SUVs pack a 1.6-liter engine under the hood. The peppy gasoline-powered powerplant is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and makes a decent 165hp with 240Nm of torque.

Peugeot also brought the new 2008 SUV. While this smaller model is the spitting image of its larger brothers, it does carry a smaller 1.2-liter engine mated to the brand’s six-speed automatic transmission. It makes a respectable 130hp with 230Nm of torque.

Inside, though, the Peugeot 2008 comes with the Peugeot i-Cockpit which features a 10-inch digital instrument cluster with a seven-inch infotainment system. Available driver-assist features include high-beam assist, blind-spot monitoring, active lane-keeping assist, driver attention warning, active safety brake, and hill start assist.

The Premium Traveller, on the other hand, comes as a luxurious family carrier. At the fore are Xenon headlamps with LED DRLs. Inside, it packs a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 3.5-inch instrument panel just past the steering wheel.

To keep its passengers safe, the Premium Traveller offers a suite of safety features which include ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, hill climb assist, driver attention alert, blind-spot assist, front and rear parking sensors, as well as a rearview camera and a programmable cruise control with speed limiter.

The 5008, 3008, and 2008 SUV, as well as the Traveler Premium, will be on display at MIAS from April 7 to 10.
