First-Ever "Motorcycles Only" BMW Showroom Launched in Davao

It will be the first ever BMW Motorrad dealership that will only sell motorcycles in the Philippines, so everyone's pumped. And for someone who has been patiently wooing BMW Philippines for 15 years before it finally said "yes," it's a personal triumph in and of itself.

Wilson Lu, the person responsible for this "patient" undertaking, mostly credits this to his partnership with Alexander Roleda, the owner of a BMW dealership in Bacolod City.

Business mixed with passion

When asked what made him pursue this kind of business, he admitted it isn't really solely about the numbers. Motorcycles have always been his passion. In fact, he has been riding  these two-wheelers for more than 30 years already--and almost half of those years were spent riding BMW models.

"I want the riders to enjoy what I'm enjoying, especially BMW bikes," Lu says.

Only for motorcycle lovers

The dealership's location will sit on a 1,200 sqm lot along Buhangin Avenue. And unlike typical BMW showrooms that normally place the motorcycles within small, cramped spaces, the BMW Motorrad-Davao branch will be given its own facility--without cars to distract the buyers. What's more, this pioneering branch will also offer a service area for its customers.

The ten-story facility is expected to be completed within a year, and part of its lineup will include entry-level motorbikes like the G 310 R and G 310 GS up to the more "advanced ones" like the R 1000 RR race and R 1200 GS adventure.
