Comubial Autocar Corporation (CAC), the authorized distributor of
Kia vehicles in the Philippines, is recalling
2,379 units of the
second-generation Kia Carnival as part of the
recall program initiated worldwide by
KIA Motors Corporation (KMC) "to inspect, repair and replace the
Integrated Circuit Module (ICM)" identified by the Korean carmaker to have been installed in some production batch of the said model sold in the Philippine market.
According to CAC, the replacement part has been"improved to avoid the ICM relay box from getting damaged" and
all parts and services related to it will be
provided free of charge to it customers.
Owners of the particular vehicle model are advised to
contact their respective dealership to verify if their unit is included in the 17-page
list of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN/ Chassis No.) of the affected units.
