Kia Telluride Eight-Seater SUV Makes Pre-Production Debut
Kia is setting its eyes to rival the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser, Ford Expedition, and Chevrolet Suburban as it revealed the Telluride eight-seater SUV at this year's New York Fashion Week.
The Telluride is Kia's upcoming challenger in the full-size SUV arena. It is first introduced at the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) as a full-size, three-row SUV concept. Now, the Korean automaker collaborated with fashion designer Brandon Maxwell to give us a glimpse of the Telluride SUV.
The vehicle shown at this year's New York Fashion Week is essentially similar to the one Kia previewed during the 2016 NAIAS except for a number of extras such as its off-road look. The Korean automaker says the custom Telluride with options and aftermarket features will not be fitted in the SUV's production version. The Telluride which appeared on the runway is said to drew influence form Maxwell's Spring Summer 2019 collection: Texas.
The eight-seater Telluride SUV will be assembled at Kia Motors' manufacturing plant in West Point, Georgia. It will have a V6 engine under its hood but Kia has yet to announce the exact powertrain details of the Telluride. In case you're wondering, the Telluride will be bigger as compared to the Kia Sorento. Kia will hold the official world debut of the Telluride at the 2019 NAIAS in Detroit.
