Volkswagen Tarok Concept Debuts in 2018 Sao Paulo Motor Show
Volkswagen has launched a new pickup truck concept at the 2018 Sao Paulo International Motor Show. Dubbed as the Tarok concept, it is a pickup truck that features an aggressive and striking exterior along with an all-wheel drive powertrain.
The front end of the Tarok concept is bold and muscular with a little hint of youthful appeal. The sharp-looking headlights appear to be seamlessly connected as the light design passes through the grille. The Tarok also comes with a large bumper while the prominent fender flares add to the pickup's overall muscular appeal.
Turning to the side, the Tarok concept is characterized by sharp lines and it is integrated with a roof bar and a silver colored side mirrors. The rear, on the other hand, is equipped with three-dimensional LED lighting strip.
The interior of the pickup concept features a two-tone theme. The cabin is mostly integrated with a digital design. Volkswagen says the dashboard has a crossbar in Cypress Metallic. This crossbar surrounds a glass-covered Infotainment system, digital air conditioning controls, and a digital cockpit.
Of note, the Volkswagen Tarok concept introduces a different loading area concept. According to the German automaker, the Tarok's floor space can be extended by opening the tailgate or using the brand new mechanism that allows the bottom of the passenger cab rear panel to be folded down.
The Tarok concept is powered by a 1.4-liter TSI engine that delivers 148 hp. The engine is connected to six-speed automatic transmission and transfers power to all four wheels. Volkswagen says the Tarok concept will soon be offered in Brazil with barely any changes. The automaker added that the future series model start out with a 2.0-litre turbo diesel direct injection engine that also delivers 148 hp.
