Volvo’s FE Electric is a Truck Built for the Urban Jungle

Electric power is not exclusive to cars. Trucks are also making a shift from combustion powered engines to electric motor. Indeed, the future of mobility is leaning towards the electrification of the different modes of transport. As a testament to that shift, Volvo has introduced the FE Electric, a full electrically-powered truck that’s designed to take on city operations. It is the second electric truck from the Swedish automaker--the first is called FL Electric. The The FE Electric is designed for heavy city distribution and refuse (waste) operations. It is equipped with two electric motors that delivers a combined power output of 370 kW (496 hp) and a max torque of 850 Nm. It also comes with 200-300 kWh lithium-ion batteries that yields a maximum range of up to 200 km, according to Volvo. Charging time may take an approximate of one and a half hours.
