Suzuki Shooter for sale in the Philippines
The Suzuki Shooter is an underbone motorcycle with a standard body frame design. The Shooter is also categorized as a commuter bike, which means it can be modified into a tricycle. This vehicle’s lightweight compact design and exterior platform were created after its predecessor the Suzuki GSX-R.
The Shooter is currently available in two new variants: a spoke and a mags variant. According to Suzuki, both variants deliver less drag, thanks to their GSX-R origins, while maintaining their durability. The new unit is also said to deliver better fuel economy at an average of 63 kilometers per hour thanks to the installation of an advanced engine control module (ECM).
Powertrain and features
The new Suzuki Shooter 115 Fi uses a 4-stroke, 1 cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine which provides 6.8 horsepower at 7500 rpm. This motorcycle also has a telescopic, oil damped with coil spring front suspension and a swing arm type, oil damped with spring rear suspension. It runs through a 4-speed transmission via a constant mesh clutch.
Redesigned in 2012 and first released in the Asean market, the Shooter now features a new futuristic design instrument panel, a brighter reflector headlight, a sporty oval muffler with cover, an aerodynamic front leg shield patterned after a shark’s gill and LED honeycomb shaped taillights.
The new unit also comes with a larger 7.6 liter under seat compartment and anti-theft magnetic key shutter ignition. It retains a drum-type front and rear brake for the spoke variant and a drum-type rear and a disc type front brake for the mags variant. This vehicle can also be started using a kickstart or electric system.
Price comparison and competition
The Suzuki Shooter is among one of the top choices for commuter bikes in the country. Its low displacement, however, suggests that it is more suited to urban areas where drivers and passengers rarely have heavy luggage with them.
A brand new Shooter costs P58,900 for the spoke variant and P63,900 for the mags variant and both come with a 1 year or 12,000 km warranty. A second hand or used unit can be bought for as little as P50,000, good value considering the Shooter is a fairly new motorcycle line.
Some of its tough competitors include the Kymco Visa R, Honda Wave 110 Alpha and Kawasaki Curve.
