JAC JS2 Pro

The JAC JS2 Pro features a minimalist cabin layout that is predominantly black, which looks and feels premium for its price. In terms of practicality and functionality, you have plenty of room in the front. The second row is also pretty spacious for two. However, seating three large and tall passengers at the back might be a different story. But, on the plus side, you get front and rear central armrests, front and rear USB ports, and a 12V power outlet at the front.

Upfront, you are greeted by a 9-inch floating central touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth handsfree, an MP5 player, and an AM/FM radio. Meanwhile, drivers are given an instrument screen with a dimmer switch, a multifunctional steering wheel wrapped in leather, which is surprisingly very good-to-the-touch, and a modern-looking gear lever. With all of these in mind, you’ll already get a handful of premium cabin features for its accessible price point.

In terms of dimensions, the JAC JS2 Pro measures 4,149 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width, and 1,566 mm in height. This crossover has a 2,490-mm wheelbase and a 160-mm minimum ground clearance.

Upfront, the JAC JS2 Pro flaunts a classy front end accentuated by a grille that displays a diamond-like pattern. It sports an assertive-looking pair of LED headlights with DRLs. And for more illumination and visibility at night, it also comes with fog lamps. On the sides, it has an elegant two-toned side profile that is enhanced by blacked-out window trims, wheel arches, and side skirts. This crossover runs on a sporty-looking set of 16-inch wheels with aluminum tires. 

Meanwhile, its back end has an appealing hypermodern vibe to it thanks to a sleek tail light bar and fog lamps that have an inverted triangle-like shape. On top, it comes with a roof rack for more cargo space. Overall, the JS2 Pro doesn’t look like an entry-level vehicle on the road. 

The JAC JS2 Pro comes with a MacPherson independent suspension at the front and a Torsion Beam semi-independent-type at the rear. Thanks to this setup, you’ll be able to enjoy this car’s very agile maneuverability even when you are passing through bumper-to-bumper traffic or narrow streets inside the city. It also has decent absorption of light to moderate bumps on the road. All in all, this crossover can deliver a stable and very pleasant riding experience for everyone on board.

The JAC JS2 Pro is powered by a 1.5T VVT gasoline engine that produces 103 hp of power and 137 Nm of torque. This crossover’s motor is mated to a continuously variable transmission system. 

On the highway, its quickness is still respectable for a car its size. However, it might be better to overtake slower vehicles with extra precaution since its engine tends to struggle a bit when you are already reaching higher speeds. That said, this crossover thrives more in the city than on the open road. It has more than enough in the tank to make your daily city commute easier and more time-efficient. When it comes to fuel consumption, it is not the most frugal in its segment. But, overall, the JS2 Pro is a very well-designed and reliable city driver for small families and single, career-driven young adults.

In terms of safety, the JAC JS2 Pro is equipped with a steering-activated lighting assistance feature, cruise control, tire pressure monitoring, multiple airbags, ISOFIX child safety seat anchors, four rear parking sensors, an engine immobilizer, and a reversing parking video among others. Its braking setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, hydraulic brake assist, hill-start assist control, and a brake override system. This crossover comes with front and rear disc brakes.

The JAC JS2 Pro is a compelling option for budget-oriented consumers and single career-driven young adults who are planning to buy their first car. In my opinion, it is arguably among the locally-available crossovers that deliver the highest value for money. It looks and feels premium, practical and reliable for everyday city use, and is very feature-packed for its price point.
