Kaicene Honor S

Just like the exterior design, the interior layout of the Kaicene Honor S looks very simple. However, things start to look a bit more dated here. Except for the touchscreen infotainment system in the middle, there are no other things that bring in some excitement to the cabin of the Kaicene Honor S.

The all-black cabin of the Kaicene Honor S has contrasting silver accents on the steering wheel, AC vents surround and gear lever surrounds. The three-spoke steering wheel and all-analogue instrument console look very functional, with the former also lacking audio and Bluetooth controls. The centre console looks nice with the large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a trapezoidal panel having a gloss-black finish for the manual AC controls. The Kaicene Honor S might not have a feature-rich cabin, but the same cabin is good enough to seat seven people with ease.

The Kaicene Honor S has a very functional design, which doesn’t give it an appealing look. However, at the same time, it doesn’t look as drab or dated either. The boxy and on-point design of the Kaicene Honor S will surely appeal to the set of buyers who want to have a simple-looking MPV with more focus on functionality on the inside.

The Kaicene Honor S has a decent looking front fascia, which includes a wide trapezoidal grille with tapered lower edges and a pair of parallel chrome lines flowing towards the rounded logo in the middle. Adjacent to both the side edges of the grille, there are big headlamps, which have curved upper edges on the outside and come integrated with LED projector bulbs and sleek daytime running LEDs on their upper edges. The front bumper with its body cladding across its width and around the fog lamp housings and a silver skid plate in the middle gives the Kaicene Honor S a rugged look.

The side profile of the Kaicene Honor S has a boxy layout, with the MPV coming with sliding doors for ingress and egress for second and third rows. The design looks a bit plain, but the nicely rising curve from the front door panels towards the tail lamps adds some character to the side profile. The rearview mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators and five-spoke alloy wheels look dated. These 14-inch alloy wheels look too small, considering the height of the vehicle.

The rear profile of the Kaicene Honor S is the best angle to look at it, with the vehicle having an almost vertical stance with a large rear windshield. The tail lamps are large and have a two-part design, which further makes the rear profile look large and wide.

The Kaicene Honor S comes with a basic and cost-effective suspension of independent Macpherson struts at the front and a live axle with leaf springs at the back. While the ride comfort is not too plush as someone would expect from a modern vehicle at its price, the suspension is durable enough to take on all the undulations with ease.

The Kaicene Honor S is being offered with a simple 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is the only powertrain option for the MPV. Available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, the engine pumps out 104 bhp of maximum power and 142 Nm of maximum torque output. The engine supplies the power to the rear wheels via a rear-wheel-drive system.

The Kaicene Honor S is packed with a very basic safety equipment list, which includes just dual airbags and ABS.

The issue with the Kaicene Honor S is that it is too plain and lacks several features which are now perceived to be must-have things. However, when it comes to performing basic duties like ferrying people from point A to point B with minimal asking price, the Kaicene Honor S is a decent option.
