Bristol Zontes 400E

The Bristol Zontes 400E’s design looks confident and elegant at the same time. It has a premium maxi-scooter appearance, which can catch the attention of fellow riders and regular onlookers around. At night, it has an ethereal flare courtesy of its huge LED headlight assembly (3 headlights on each side for a total of 6). Similar to its other Zontes 400-cc scooter cousins, the 400E also comes with an adjustable windscreen. Its two-toned front fender adds a hint of sportiness to its overall demeanor on the road.

Moreover, it features a two-toned silhouette enhanced by blacked-out features and body-coloured trims. A “ZONTES 400E” sticker is displayed on its side, proudly showing its identity wherever it goes. It has a subtle but premium-looking back end illuminated by sleek LED tail lights. 

Aside from these, this maxi-scooter comes with a TFT instrument display, as well as USB ports. Its dual-stepped seat offers great cushioning and ergonomics for both the rider and pillion both on short and long-distance rides. It comes with a built-in grab bar for the pillion. And, on top of this, it also has a generous under-seat compartment for your full-size helmet and handheld belongings.

In terms of dimensions, the Bristol Zontes 400E measures 2,200 mm in length, 860 mm in width, 1,400 mm in overall height, and 760 mm in seat height. It has a 1,570-mm wheelbase and a 150-mm ground clearance. This maxi-scooter runs on a 15-inch wheel at the front, while a 14-inch at the rear.

The Bristol Zontes 400E comes with a Telescopic Fork suspension at the front and an Oil-Damped Telescopic Coil Spring at the rear. Even at high speeds, you will be able to confidently and precisely hit sharp turns or corners with this maxi-scooter. In the city, it is nimble to maneuver and can effectively absorb bumps and uneven concrete pavements at lower speeds. However, when cruising at higher speeds, bumps and potholes are a bit noticeable on the rider’s side (i.e., front end). But, overall, this maxi-scooter can still deliver a pliant and comfortable experience for you and your pillion both on short and long-distance trips.

The Bristol Zontes 400E is powered by a 400-cc, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine that produces a maximum power output of 28.5 kW (38 hp) and a maximum torque of 40 Nm. It comes with a continuously variable transmission gearbox and two riding modes: Eco and Sport.

Among the Zontes 400-cc scooters, the 400E is arguably one of the quickest in terms of acceleration. It is impressively fast off the line, going from 0 to about 145 kmph effortlessly. That said, you will be able to overtake slower bikes and vehicles on free-flowing highways with ease and precision using this scooter. There are also minimal vibrations even when reaching higher RPMs. And, in the city, it brings back great fuel consumption numbers even when filtering through bumper-to-bumper traffic.

In terms of braking, the Bristol Zontes 400E comes with front and rear discs. Its setup is supported by a dual-channel anti-lock braking system and traction control system. This maxi-scooter is also equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system.
