Bristol Zontes 400G

The Bristol Zontes 400G doesn’t look like your typical scooter. It has that big bike-level of swag and presence on the road. It features an aggressive glare that kind of looks like an eagle or a dragon’s eyes courtesy of its imposing LED headlight assembly with DRLs. For increased illumination and visibility, it has customizable front fog lamps. It also comes with an adjustable windscreen and a sporty-looking fender. 

Upfront, you get a high-tech TFT instrument panel, adjustable brake levers, and handlebars with built-in hand guards. Its saddle is well-padded and offers impressive touring comfort for both you and your pillion. To enhance the passenger’s comfort level, it also has a pillion step and a grab bar at the back. In terms of practicality and functionality, you get a spacious under-seat storage, which can accommodate one full-size helmet and one half-size, as well as USB Type-A and Type-C ports. 

Furthermore, it flaunts an aggressive-looking side profile, accentuated by sharp fairings and sporty branding decals. This adventure scooter runs on spoked wheels: 17-inch at the front, while 14-inch at the rear. Its chunky-looking muffler with a matte heat guard adds more detail to its silhouette. At the back, it gets futuristic-looking LED tail lights along with brake and signal lights.

The Bristol Zontes 400G measures 2,230 mm in length, 925 mm in width, 1,345 mm in overall height, and 770 mm in seat height. This adventure scooter has a wheelbase of 1,560 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm.

In terms of suspension, the Bristol Zontes 400G utilizes an Adjustable Inverted Fork at the front, while an Adjustable Preload and Rebound suspension with a Gas-Charged Twin Shock at the rear. Thanks to this suspension setup, you’ll be able to confidently hit sharp twisties and take on light to moderate rocky and muddy off-trails. It also delivers good grip and stability even at high speeds. In the city, it still offers agile maneuverability despite its weight and bigger-than-most size. All in all, the Zontes 400G boasts impressive touring comfort–allowing you and your pillion to achieve a refined experience both inside and outside the city.

The Bristol Zontes 400G is powered by a 400-cc, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine that has a maximum power output of 28.5 kW (38 hp) and a maximum torque of 40 Nm. It comes mated to a continuously variable transmission gearbox. 

Despite having a heavier curb weight than its 400-cc scooter cousins, it can still accelerate quickly and smoothly. Its power-to-weight ratio is superb, allowing you to effectively overtake slower vehicles on free-flowing expressways. It can also take on steep roads out of town. Meanwhile, in the city, it is very usable thanks to its good fuel economy.  

In terms of safety, the Bristol Zontes 400G comes with a dual-channel anti-lock braking system, traction control system, tyre pressure monitoring system, dashcam, and a built-in crash guard. This adventure scooter comes with front and rear disc brakes.

In my opinion, the Bristol Zontes 400G is a near-perfect scooter for individuals who are commuters on weekdays and adventure-seekers in their free time. This adventure scooter is a jack-of-all-trades, offering a satisfying mix of city usability, touring comfort, great expressway performance, and a commendable light to moderate off-roading capability.
