Harley-Davidson Road Glide

The Harley-Davidson Road Glide displays a combination of modern elements and classic design cues. Upfront, it flaunts Harley-Davidson’s iconic sharknose fairing, which is illuminated by a fully-integrated LED lighting system. This touring motorcycle also comes with a new windshield design. 

Moreover, the Standard trim features a two-toned silhouette, accentuated by chrome features and gloss black finishes. On the other hand, the Black trim gets a sportier-looking profile with all of its blacked-out parts. Meanwhile, its back end is illuminated by a distinct-looking LED lighting package that comes with integrated turn signals for top-notch visibility at all times.

Upfront, the rider gets a Skyline OS full-color TFT display that offers Bluetooth hands-free and AM/FM radio. Its infotainment display is linked to a 2-speaker sound system. It also comes with an electric power outlet, which is located inside its inner fairing storage. It also has a 1,625-mm wheelbase and a 145-mm static ground clearance. This touring motorcycle runs on contrast cut aluminum wheels (front: 19-inch, rear: 18-inch).

In terms of suspension combination, the Harley-Davidson Road Glide comes with a 49-mm Dual Bending Valve Fork at the front, while a 76.2-mm Dual Outboard Emulsion Shocks with Preload Adjustability at the rear. Thanks to this setup this motorcycle can confidently take on sharp twisties even at high speeds. However, maneuvering this touring motorcycle through tight traffic and narrow parking slots would be a challenge because of its pretty hefty frame. 

The Harley-Davidson Road Glide utilizes dual floating rotors for front braking, while a fixed rotor for the rear. This touring motorcycle’s braking setup is supported by an anti-lock braking system.

But, on the plus side, when it comes to free-flowing city roads and highways, the Road Glide can deliver a very comfortable riding experience. In addition, achieving a good riding position on this motorcycle wouldn’t be difficult even for riders under 6ft because of its low seat height and well-positioned handlebars. 

The Harley-Davidson Road Glide is powered by a 1,923-cc Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine that produces a maximum power output of 105 hp and a maximum torque of 176 Nm. This touring motorcycle runs on Harley-Davidson’s 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission system.

For a touring motorcycle, the Road Glide runs with immense liveliness off the line. It accelerates quickly and very smoothly, allowing the rider to effortlessly overtake slower vehicles on the expressway. Additionally, it also produces an eargasmic roar as it goes up the rev range. However, this motorcycle is more ideal as a weekend cruiser than a daily ride because of its moderately-high fuel consumption.
