Keeway Brusco 125 Review
Keeway Brusco 125 Overview
The Keeway Brusco 125 was launched as a less powerful version of the slightly bigger Hyperbrusco 175, with it sharing its basic design and flavor of an entry-level commuter shared with the latter. The Keeway Brusco 125 is being offered as a sturdy and fuel-efficient commuter motorcycle for the economy-conscious buyers who want a basic and pocket-friendly motorcycle for their heavy-duty urban commutes. The Keeway Brusco 125 is made available in a single paint shade of red.
Keeway Brusco 125 Design
The Keeway Brusco 125 has been designed with the single intent of being a basic workhorse that is cheap to buy and run. To keep the costs in check and project it as an entry-level motorcycle, Keeway has made the Brusco 125 look very simple, which in the process, results in a dated-looking motorcycle. The entire design of the Keeway Brusco 125 is the same as the bigger Hyperbrusco 175, with simple-looking body panels giving it a no-frills appearance.
At the front, the Keeway Brusco 125 has got a staid-looking rectangular multi-reflector headlamp, which is surrounded by a comparatively modern-looking two-part headlamp cowl. The upper part of the cowl has a blacked-out visor, which adds some visual drama to the otherwise plain-looking front profile of the motorcycle. Other bits of the Keeway Brusco 125 which make it an entry-level motorcycle to look at are orange-colored turn indicators and a steel front fender with a big mudguard at its bottom.
The Keeway Brusco 125 continues its basic appearance for its side profile as well. The body panels, including the simple-looking fuel tank and triangular side body cowls, look dated from the point of view of modern design standards. The bike comes with basic-looking spoke wheels, however, the blacked-out theme for the engine brings in some novelty to the motorcycle. Even the long exhaust pipe with a slim chrome shield above it and absence of rear side body panels accentuate its cost-cutting attempts.
At the back, the Keeway Brusco 125 has a minimalist appeal with a simple tail lamp and orange turn indicators mounted on its rear fender. The motorcycle gets a flat, big, and long single seat, which ends up with a tubular grab rail at the back. What’s unique here is the addition of a small top box placed above the extended part of the tubular grab rail at the back, which can be used for storing small things while on the go. Complementing the overall basic appeal of the Keeway Brusco 125, the instrument console is a simple all-analog affair, with basic grounds like speedometer, odometer, and trip meter covered in its layout.
All-in-all, there is nothing much to talk about the design of the Keeway Brusco 125, for it shows clear signs of cost-cutting and basicness.
Keeway Brusco 125 Ride & Handling
The main contributor to the sturdy appeal of the Keeway Brusco 125 has to be its suspension setup, with the motorcycle getting conventional hydraulic telescopic forks with 110mm travel at the front and oil-damped coil springs with 55mm travel at the rear. Thanks to its low kerb weight and well-damped suspension, the Keeway Brusco 125 feels light to maneuver in city traffic. However, the grip from the skinny 17-inch tyres could have been better. The bike comes with a decent braking setup of drum brakes at both ends.
Keeway Brusco 125 Engine & Fuel Consumption
Like the styling, the engine of the Keeway Brusco 125 too has been derived from that of the Hyperbrusco 175. The four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve engine of the Keeway Brusco 125 is a scaled-down version of the engine of Hyperbrusco 175 and produces maximum power and torque outputs of 10.2 PS and 9 Nm respectively. Given the low kerb weight of 110 kg, the Keeway Brusco 125 has an impressive power-to-weight ratio, which makes it a decently powerful motorcycle to ride for its size. The 5-speed gearbox is a bit clunky to use here, though.
Keeway Brusco 125 Braking & Safety
The Keeway Brusco 125 is a low-cost motorcycle that skips out on modern safety aids to keep the prices down. So, in terms of safety features, the Keeway Brusco 125 comes as a disappointment with no safety features on offer.
Keeway Brusco 125 Verdict
For a low-cost motorcycle, the Keeway Brusco 125 is a decently engineered motorcycle with its basics in engine and chassis set right. The motorcycle feels cheap in terms of design and quality, however, the sturdy suspension and adequate performance from the engine justify its low asking price.
