The Royal Enfield Classic 500 derives its power from a single-cylinder twin-spark, air-cooled, and fuel-injected SOHC 499cc engine that has been coupled with a five-speed transmission gearbox. The 499cc engine churns out a power output of 27.2 hp at 5,250 rpm along with 41.3 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. 

A major part of the Classic 500 appeal has been ensured exclusively by its torque build-up, which is its most impressive feature. Almost 80% of the peak torque is delivered below 3000rpm. In terms of performance, the gear pulling and engine response of this classic 500 is great that makes it a very good mile muncher.

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 has improved a lot in comparison to its previous generation when it comes to the safety features that have been added to its present generation model. Now, it has been offered with a 280 mm disc and a twin-piston caliper upfront along with a 240mm disc with a single-piston caliper in the rear portion.
