Strong suspension, uncompromised and powerful torque
The Gazelle Ural-Next is unlike any truck I’ve ever driven. I usually use it in mining operations in Surigao, where most other vehicles struggle due to muddy trails and steep descents. Its YaMZ-536 engine delivers a power of 312 hp roughly, with a strong low-end torque. Thanks to the 6x6 drivetrain, the truck forms a strong grip on loose soil. The reinforced ladder-frame chassis and leaf-spring suspension are meticulously designed for punishment. Despite its humongous size, the visibility is wonderful, all thanks to the colossal mirrors and a high driving position. However, ride comfort is pretty rough on paved highways, which is indeed a major downside.
