New and Used BMW Z3 for Sale Philippines 2017

BMW Z3 for sale Philippines | BMW Z3 price Philippines | Blue BMW Z3

You may not be familiar with a BMW Z3, but watch the James Bond movie “Golden Eye”, and check out one of the scenes where they were introducing the latest gadgets to Bond. You’ll notice that it’s none other than the sporty yet elegant BMW Z3. Made as either a 2-door coupe or 2-door roadster, this dynamo is for you when you want a uniquely handsome, sophisticated sports car that’s attractive, well-built and durable. What’s more, this vehicle has a good resale value, in case you plan to sell it in the future.

The BMW Z3 convertible was designed by the BMW Design Team and headed by Joji Nagashima in July 1992. Many use the term “clown shoe” to describe the Z3’s overall shape, but its round nose and short rear has become one of its most distinguishing features. The BMW Z3 M roadster, considering that it’s an entry to the high-performance segment, had a slightly different design, sporting a more aerodynamic front bumper, sports steering wheel, 17-inch wheels, and a rear bumper designed to accommodate quad exhausts. The BMW Z series began with the Z1, but the ultimate runaway success of BMW was the Z3. This good-looking car has had three significant firsts: (1) it was the first mass produced BMW roadster; (2) it was the first BMW model to be manufactured in the U.S., and (3) it was the first non-British car to be featured in a Bond movie. The BMW Z3’s 7-year reign only included one facelifted model in 2000. Production of the BMW Z3 ended in 2002, and was replaced by the more refined and more modern BMW Z4 that’s currently their entry to the roadster niche. This model is bigger, more expensive and more luxurious compared to the Z3.

Modern sports cars are sleek, futuristic, and dynamic in appearance and even in performance. However, there’s something about the classic ones, such as the Z3 BMW M roadster, that can stir and warm a driver’s soul. Not surprisingly (and even to this day), the BMW Z3 continues to compete with other equally popular and established coupes in the industry, namely: Mazda Miata MX-5, Mercedes-Benz SLK, and Porsche 911.

BMW Z3 Review in the Philippines

BMW Z3 Specs and Performance

Swift and smooth on the road, the first BMW Z3 units (1996-2002) usually had either a 1.8L M43B18 I4 engine that delivers 114 horsepower and 168 Nm of torque, or a 2.8L M44B19 I6 engine that churns out 205 horsepower and 278 Nm of torque. Of course, a BMW roadster lineup isn’t complete without a high-performance or sport version, thus resulting in the 1997 production of the BMW Z3M often referred to as the BMW Z3 M coupe or M roadster. After the 2000 facelift, this speedy version of the Z3 was powered by the same pre-facelift S54B32 I6 engine but is much more potent at 320 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.

In terms of performance, a base 1.8L BMW Z 3 has a top speed of 195 km/h and goes from 0-60mph in 10.1 seconds whereas the stronger BMW Z3 M boasts a top speed of 250 km/h and 0-60 acceleration in 5.1 seconds. Facelifted Z3s dropped the outdated semi-trailing-arm rear suspension for a more comfortable MacPherson strut front suspension and four-wheel independent setup.
