Dongfeng Motor PH grows lineup with Vigo EV debut

MANILA: Dongfeng Motors Philippines has further expanded its lineup with the launch of the Vigo EV.

In a statement, the Legado Motors-led automotive distributor shared that the full electric sport utility vehicle is positioned as a practical yet innovative offering that merges technology, premium comfort, and everyday usability. 

“The Vigo EV represents our vision of bringing smart, efficient, and accessible electric mobility closer to Filipino customers,” Dongfeng Motors Philippines Deputy Chief Executive Officer Brennan Lim said.

“We are proud to introduce a vehicle that combines innovation, practicality, and confidence for everyday driving,” he added.

Vehicle specifications

The Dongfeng Vigo EV is powered by an electric motor in a front-wheel-drive format. This mill can dish out:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	160
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	230

Allowing the vehicle to cover up to 471 kilometers (based on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle standards) without producing emissions is its 51.87-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery. This can be juiced up using a Type 2 alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) port. 

Per Dongfeng Motors Philippines, the DC fast charging can bring the Vigo EV’s energy bank levels from 30 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Additionally, its five-minute rapid charge can add up to 114 kilometers of range to the vehicle.

Further, the model is fitted with a two-section tailgate that provides better loading access. It also comes with Zero Pressure Breathable Seats with heating and cooling functions.

The Dongfeng Vigo EV also boasts Nap and Camp modes that ensure comfort and flexibility while parked. When used, these intelligent settings take advantage of the vehicle’s battery to regulate cabin temperature as well as power onboard electronics, transforming the SUV into a mobile rest space or campsite for users on the go. 

Guaranteeing security and safety is its suite of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) while its advanced voice recognition control system and Music External Play Mode elevate convenience for occupants. 

Lastly, the Dongfeng Vigo EV is packaged with a 10-year battery warranty and a five-year bumper-to-bumper vehicle warranty.
