Mitsubishi PH reaches 1,000 'safe days' milestone

The official distributor of Mitsubishi locally recently reached a 1,000 safe-day milestone, underscoring how Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) values a safe working environment for its employees while providing quality products to the Philippine market.

The feat also highlights the attainment of 5.6 million working hours with no major or lost time accidents—doubling the company's previous record of 2.6 million safe hours achieved in 2019, wherein MMPC was honored with the Safe Man-Hours Award from the Safety Organization of the Philippines.

MMPC President and CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri lauded the Safety Department team for its proactive efforts in ensuring the wellbeing of all its employees.

“We also would like to thank our colleagues for their discipline and cooperation to follow all safety guidelines. With this achievement, not only do we maintain a safe working environment but we also generated many cost and work efficiencies much appreciated especially at a very challenging time like now,” Oshikiri added.

Under manufacturing, the MMPC Safety Department actively conducts and implements programs eyed to promote and improve safety habits with the daily safety inspections and 5S and 5T activities to anticipate possible accident prone conditions. The department tasked to safeguard employee welfare is regularly issuing safety memorandums and maintained the safety signage reminders are visibly posted within the work areas to increase safety awareness.

Further, employees are also required to attend Basic Occupational Health and Safety training to properly equip them with proper knowledge on safety.
