Mitsubishi poised to launch new Delica Mini in Japan

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced that it will be launching the new Delica Mini in Japan.

According to the Tokyo-based automotive brand, the new Delica Mini takes its name from the Delica minivan, which was known for its spacious interior and admirable performance. That said it aspires to offer the same characteristics and is dubbed a “super height-wagon kei-car.”

MMC describes the exterior of the Mitsubishi Delica Mini as sport utility vehicle (SUV)-like, which gives the impression of powerful driving like its namesake, the Delica. Notable appointments include a friendly “Delica-like” front face, large-diameter 15-inch tires, and specially tuned shock absorbers.

The Mitsubishi Delica Mini, MMC pointed out, also gets a 4X4 variant with exclusive equipment.

Inside the Mitsubishi Delica Mini is a functional cabin, that per the carmaker, is convenient for both outdoor, recreation, and everyday use. It boasts a spacious interior room allowing for comfort even in the rear seats, as well as secure and pleasant road performance even when driving on unpaved surfaces such as gravel roads.

Standard driving nannies and safety features include the Mitsubishi Mi-Pilot driver assistance technology as well as active safety technology.

MMC revealed that the company started taking pre-orders for the Mitsubishi Delica Mini on January 13. The number of orders has reached about 9,000 units as of April 5. As for order trends, about 60 percent of all customers selected 4WD models while the fully equipped Premium models accounted for over 80 percent of orders.

The majority of the orders came from families with children and customers looking to enjoy outdoor activities.

Sales of the Mitsubishi Delica Mini will begin on May 25 and will be priced from ¥1.804 million (approximately P756,582) to ¥2.238 million (around P938,745).
