PH market gets refreshed Cruiser 117 bikes from Harley-Davidson Asia

MANILA: Harley-Davidson Asia has brought the latest lineup of the marque’s Cruiser 117 family to the Philippine motorcycle market. 

The aforementioned roster consists of six models equipped with the heavily revised 1,916-cubic-centimeter (CC) Milwaukee-Eight engines. In addition, these two-wheelers also boast upgrades when it comes to their styling and safety equipment. 

On that note, here is a quick look at Harley-Davidson’s new motorcycles. 

Styling, powertrain

Harley-Davidson Street Bob, Heritage Classic

The latest iteration of the Harley-Davidson Street Bob for the local market flaunts a new “stretched diamond” tank medallion. Optional for enthusiasts who want a little more flair are the new tubeless laced wheels. 

Retained are the model’s mini ape bar, 13.2-liter fuel tank, solo seat with a separate saddle for the pillion rider, and chopped rear fender. 

Meanwhile, the Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic packs a new exhaust system that allows for a symmetrical saddlebag arrangement. Also found on the motorbike are body pinstripes, a chrome tank medallion in diamond, black and chrome appliques, as well as nine-spoke cast wheels. 

In betwixt the rider’s thighs is the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic, tuned for a flat torque curve and a notable street performance. Here are its performance figures: 

Maximum power output (in horsepower [hp>)	89
Maximum torque (in Newton-meters [Nm>)	163

Compared to the 2024 Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine, the new powerplant produces four percent more power.

Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, Breakout

The Harley-Davidson Fat Boy in the Philippines is characterized by new graphics to come along with new paintwork. Like the aforementioned Harley-Davidson Street Bob and Heritage Classic, the Fat Boy also comes with a new tank medallion and new pinstripe layouts. 

Mechanically, the said model gets a pair of high-performance tires, aluminum wheels (Lakecaster), and front and rear fenders with a new shape. 

As for the Harley-Davidson Breakout, it offers a new round headlamp measuring 5.76 inches, a new paint and graphics package, monotone bar, and a shield emblem on its fuel tank. 

Propulsion for these models come from the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Custom, which dishes out the following numbers: 

Maximum power output (in hp)	104
Maximum torque (in Nm)	171

In comparison to the engine used by older models, the said mill puts out six percent more power. Key to its improved performance is its “two-into-two” exhaust system with individual catalysts, which feeds the engine with more air and reduces intake noise. 

Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST, Low Rider S

The Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST gets symmetrical rigid saddlebags and a new taillight. Motorcycle buyers, too, can opt for chrome accents, including chrome “Radiate” wheels. 

On the other hand, the Harley-Davidson Low Rider S receives a new taillight, new graphics on the air cleaner cladding, and black cast aluminum “Radiate” wheels. 

The said rides share the Milwaukee-Eight 117 High Output, making them the models with the most power in the lineup. For reference, here is a table showing how much “oomph” they generate:

Versus the old engine, the new setup is said to deliver up to 11 percent more power.

Limited-edition Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Grey Ghost

In addition to the six motorcycles launched by Harley-Davidson Asia, the company also showcased the limited-edition Fat Boy Grey Ghost. 

The special variant celebrates the 35th anniversary of the Fat Boy cruiser nameplate.
