Report: 12 Porsche Cars Burned in Possible G20 Summit Protest
Ahead of the 2017 G20 Summit in Hamburg, Germany which takes place today and tomorrow, July 7 and 8, 2017, protesters took to the streets and are suspected to be behind the burning of 10 various Porsche models at a Porsche Center in Eidelstedt in Hamburg.
According to RT.com, the fire started in the early morning of July 6, with the emergency responders finding at least 10 vehicles on fire. Although the 38 firefighters that responded were able to prevent more cars from being destroyed by the fire, the conflagration destroyed 12 vehicles while the fire and the foam used to extinguish it damaged an undisclosed number of units as well. Porsche reportedly estimates the damage to cost approximately $1.3 million.
The G20 summit is an annual gathering of the heads of states and central bank governors from 20 major economies around the globe that meet to discuss policies pertaining to the promotion of international financial stability.
