Subaru updates 2023 Legacy sedan

Subaru’s US arm announced recently that the 2023 year model Legacy sedan will come with mild updates.

These upgrades start with the midsize sedan’s exterior which now features a more prominent grille and redesigned LED headlights. Subaru equips the Legacy with an aggressive front bumper cover and a larger grille as well as a new lighting setup which includes its headlamps and fog lamps.

Inside, the 2023 Legacy gets an updated infotainment system with the latest version of the Subaru Starlink Multimedia Plus. The 11.6-inch screen is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Per Subaru, it now also features improved on-screen controls for audio, HVAC, and vehicle features.

Subaru also updated the safety features of the midsize sedan and equipped it with the latest version of the brand’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. According to Subaru, the 2023 Legacy’s range-topping variant gets a wide-angle mono camera that works with the dual-camera EyeSight system. The additional camera expands the field of view even further to recognize pedestrians and bicycles sooner when the vehicle enters an intersection at low speed.

On models equipped with Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, EyeSight now includes Automatic Emergency Steering.

In addition, Subaru revealed that the 2023 Legacy will come in five variants: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring XT. All of the aforementioned variants will be built at Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) in Lafayette, Indiana along with the Ascent, Impreza, and Outback.

The updated 2023 Subaru Legacy is expected to arrive in US dealerships this fall (from September to November).
