Suzuki brings Access to PH market

MANILA: Suzuki has added the Access — the brand’s best-selling scooter globally — to its growing stable for the Philippine market.

Sporting classic design cues yet fitted with modern technology, the Japanese marque’s latest two-wheeler is expected to go against the Yamaha Mio Fazzio and Honda Giorno.

Here’s what customers will get should they get all-new Suzuki Access.

Motorcycle specifications

On paper, the all-new Suzuki Access comes with the following measurements:

Moreover, the motorcycle runs on 12- (front) and 10-inch (rear) tubeless tires.

Its neo-classic looks feature a rectangular headlamp, all-metal front fender and leg shield that complements its sleek curves and lines that cover its compact body.

Further matching its aesthetics are the four color options namely:

• Metallic Matte Black
• Pearl Grace White
• Solid Ice Green
• Metallic Matte Stellar Blue (top-variant specific)

Compared to other scooters in the market, the all-new Suzuki Access already has a flat seat that is 861mm long and 404mm wide — making it the biggest versus its competitors.

Other amenities that the all-new Suzuki Access can offer to customers are folding foot pegs, a 24-liter underseat storage compartment (which can easily fit a half-face helmet, and a tail-mounted fuel tank cap covered with an outer lid. 

Buyers who want to go full retro may opt for the iteration equipped with an analog gauge cluster while those eyeing for more technology can go for the version with thin-film transistor panel and can be connected to mobile devices via the Suzuki Ride Connect+.

 To the unaware, the Suzuki Ride Connect+ on the all-new Suzuki Access can provide navigation information, weather updates, and notify users of incoming calls and messages. 

Riding features that are also present on the all-new Suzuki Access include: 

• Passing light switch
• Integrated engine start and kill switch
• One push central locking system
• All LED lighting
• Side stand safety switch

Moving customers aboard the all-new Suzuki Access is a 124 cubic centimeter four-stroke, single-cylinder, single overhead cam engine with an air-cooling system, a fuel injection system — similar to the one fitted in the Burgman Street.

Mated to a continuously variable transmission, the powertrain can dish out:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	8.3
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	10.2

The same drivetrain also lets the motorcycle do 57.3 kilometers per liter (based on World Motorcycle Test Cycle standards). 

Its suspension system made up of front telescopic fork and a rear swingarm-type have coil springs and oil dampening to handle the all-new Suzuki Access’ ride quality.

Pricing

Below are the variants and respective price tags of the all-new Suzuki Access:

• Standard: P84,900
• Ride Connect Edition: P93,900

Both models are packaged with a two-year, or 20,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first.
