MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated has launched the DR-Z Series in the country, effectively bolstering its local roster with the addition of new dual-sport and supermoto models.
The said family of two-wheelers generated excitement among global and local riders since their international debut; now they are ready to stir the country’s motorcycle industry by providing riders with options, whether for exploring the city or going off the beaten path.
Their supposed launch came a few months late as the two models should have been launched back in 2025.

The Suzuki DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM hail from a storied lineage built on 25 years of trusted performance and engineering excellence.
Both bikes are inspired by the enduring legacy of the DR-Z400S launched in 2000, and the street-ready DR-Z400SM introduced in 2005. These next-generation models bring modern power, refined control, and upgraded agility to meet the demands of today’s diverse riding styles.
According to Suzuki Philippines Incorporated, both models were developed to elevate Suzuki’s tradition of rugged durability while integrating advanced features that suit riders who want both adventure and everyday usability.

Despite the distinction, both motorcycles use a 398 cubic-centimeter engine paired with a five-speed constant mesh transmission.
Stopping power comes from disc brakes, all round.
The two models also share the same suspension setup in the form of an oil-damped, inverted telescopic fork with coil springs (front) and an oil-damped, link-type arrangement with coil springs (rear).
Per Suzuki Philippines Incorporated, both models are fitted with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), which integrates advanced technology features such as the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector and Suzuki Traction Control System, which includes a Gravel mode for off-road riding.
In addition, it comes with a Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle system that ensures smooth and responsive acceleration.

“With their official arrival this summer season, the DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM mark another milestone for Suzuki Philippines as the brand continues to bring world-class motorcycles to Filipino riders,” Suzuki Philippines Incorporated wrote in a press release.
