Suzuki PH to unveil 800cc motorcycles?

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) might be bringing in new models and we are expecting that they would be motorcycles with 800-cubic centimeter (cc) displacement.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What could be the two Suzuki motorcycles that might be unveiled tomorrow?

The two Suzuki motorcycles that will probably be launched in the country are the V-Strom 800DE and the GSX-8S.
  • How did Carmudi Philippines come up with the assumption?

The assumption followed the invite sent to Carmudi Philippines for the Suzuki Adventure Day for the V-Strom 250 SX set for tomorrow (June 22). Based on the same invite SPH will also hold the “Power of 800 launch.”
  • The assumption followed the invite sent to Carmudi Philippines for the Suzuki Adventure Day for the V-Strom 250 SX set for tomorrow (June 22). As shown in the photo below, SPH will also hold a “Power of 800 launch” on the same date.

Judging on the seemingly double entendre, the Japanese motorcycle marque’s local arm might be bringing in the V-Strom 800DE and the GSX-8S. The two models were unveiled at last year’s Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA) in Milan, Italy.

Should the belief be correct, the might-be-arriving models will give Suzuki fans in the country more options in the big bike category.

Powering both models are newly-developed 776cc parallel twin engines that decrease vibration, assuring smooth operation. The mill in the two motorcycles is balanced by the Suzuki Cross Balancer (first of its type on a production motorcycle) to position its two balancers at 90 degrees to the crankshaft.

In addition, the two models also feature the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System, easy-start system, low RPM (revolutions per minute) assist, traction control, bi-directional quick shift system, and anti-lock braking system, among others.

Since the V-Strom 800DE is an adventure motorcycle, it will surely be taller than the GSX-8S.

More details will be shared as soon we get confirmation from the SPH.
