MANILA: The Suzuki Raider R150 Pro and the Raider R150 Blade Edition have been launched by the brand’s motorcycle arm in the Philippines

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers these new models?

The new variants are powered by a 147 cc engine.
  • How much power do they make?

    These make approximately 18 hp.
  • The newly released models offer improved technology while still maintaining the performance that Suzuki fans are familiar with.

    Suzuki Raider R150 Pro

Touted as the nameplate’s new range-topping variant, the Suzuki Raider R150 Pro comes with features that separate it from the lower-grade models.

Its notable features include a lightweight anti-lock braking system that helps control the wheels when braking. It also gets a fully-digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity via the Suzuki Ride Connect App, which allows riders to receive calls and message notifications, as well as turn-by-turn navigation.

Further, the Suzuki Raider R150 Pro gets a keyless ignition system, an answer-back function (within a 20-meter range), and anti-theft protection.

However, the most striking difference between the top-of-the-line model versus other variants is its headlamp, which seems to have taken cues from the Suzuki Gixxer motorcycles. While it is visually aggressive, the new element also improves visibility thanks to a wider headlight.

The Suzuki Raider R150 Pro is priced at P146,600.

    Suzuki Raider R150 Blade Edition

While the Pro version has a more “macho” look, the Suzuki Raider R150 Blade Edition offers riders a sleek motorcycle for everyday use.

Some of the features offered by the variant (which is also available in the Pro model) include the Suzuki Clutch Assist System. This improves control and comfort by partially disengaging the clutch during hard downshifts. The result is reduced engine braking for better deceleration.

Further, the said feature reduces left-hand fatigue in traffic or long rides by increasing the clutch’s clamping force upon acceleration.

The Suzuki Raider R150 Blade Edition also uses a direct current power generation system. This gives way to more stable voltage, improved battery efficiency, and better compatibility with modern accessories.

Speaking of modern accessories, the Suzuki Raider R150 Blade Edition — for a limited time — is offered with a Type-A USB port.

It has a sticker price worth P130,000.
