Tata PH to Replace Manza, Indigo with Two New Models
Recently, Indian vehicle maker Tata Motors, together with its exclusive local distributor Pilipinas Taj Autogroup, held its Truckathon 2017, a one-day event that saw both companies announce that it was bringing into the Philippines its range of commercial vehicles.
Well, Tata Philippines isn't limiting itself to just trucks and vans in the near future because at a press conference held a few hours before the opening of Truckathon 2017 held last July 25, Pilipinas Taj Autogroup President Jon Fernandez Jr. revealed that his company is planning to bring in two new-model vehicles to replace the Tata Manza and Tata Indigo.
According to Fernandez, the reason the Manza and Indigo will be replaced with different models--hopefully before year-end--is that both vehicles are equipped with Euro 2 engines which the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will no longer allow to be registered come 2018--at least the brand-new ones. As for what the two new models will replace the Manda and Indigo, no mention was made what these would be--although we're liking the Tata Bolt subcompact five-door hatchback and the Tata Zest four-door sedan.
