Jetour X50

The Jetour X50 comes with a classy, modern cabin fitted with soft-touch panels, piano black-finished door cards with a stylish dotted motif, as well as high-tech features. Up front, you are greeted by a 20.5-inch dual-screen display that seamlessly integrates the driver’s instrument panel and the car’s infotainment system. The driver also gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel with multiple controls and a modern-looking gear lever. Additionally, the infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, only the Sport trim also gets an intelligent voice control feature for its infotainment.

Practicality-wise, the first row is a nice place to be in, while the rear can comfortably accommodate three adult passengers. At the back, it also offers a decent amount of trunk space for its segment. For added convenience, the X50 comes with a wireless charger for your mobile phone and a total of four USB ports (front: 2, rear: 2). The Sport trim is equipped with a sunroof, offering a more aesthetically pleasing interior feel for everyone on board.

The Jetour X50 looks assertive and elegant at the same time. Its confident-looking front end is illuminated by angular LED automatic headlights (for the Sport trim) with sleek daytime running lights (DRLs). The Travel trim, on the other hand, gets the halogen counterparts. Connecting its headlights is a smooth black panel that displays the “JETOUR” lettering. Additionally, its fascia is distinguished by a vertically slatted grille with chrome accents that create a waterfall-like effect.

Meanwhile, its side profile is defined by a combination of sleek character lines, blacked-out features, and some shiny accents. This crossover SUV is fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels with sporty-looking rims. And, at the back, its rear design exudes a European vibe, highlighted by its angular LED wraparound tail lights and another “JETOUR” lettering. It also comes with a high-mount third brake light for added illumination at night. 

In terms of dimensions, the Jetour X50 model line measures 4,397 mm in length, 1,841 mm in width, and 1,654 mm in height. This crossover SUV also comes with a 2,601-mm wheelbase and a 186-mm minimum ground clearance.

The Jetour X50 utilizes a suspension combination of MacPherson Struts at the front and a Multi-Link at the rear. Thanks to this setup, you and your passengers will be able to enjoy a supple city riding experience inside this crossover SUV. It absorbs humps and other minor road imperfections effortlessly. In terms of handling, it feels light and nimble to maneuver through traffic and narrow streets. Although it may not excel in tackling sharp corners, this crossover SUV is engineered with urban comfort and everyday practicality in mind.

Powering the Jetour X50 model line is a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine that produces a maximum power output of 154 hp and a maximum torque output of 230 Nm. It comes mated to a 6-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission system and utilizes a front-wheel drivetrain. This crossover SUV is also equipped with three selectable driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

The X50 is surprisingly quite peppy off the line. Its turbocharged gasoline engine feels torquey at high speeds, allowing you to effectively perform quick overtakes on the open road. While its DCT may not be the smoothest transmission available, it more than makes up for it with its outstanding fuel efficiency, even in mixed city driving conditions.

The Jetour X50 model line is equipped with cruise control, reverse radars, a dynamic assist line system (reverse image), multiple airbags, and multiple three-point seatbelts. The Sport trim also gets advanced driver assistance systems, including blind spot detection, door open warning, rear traffic alert, and lane change assist.

This crossover SUV is fitted with front ventilated disc brakes and rear solid disc brakes. Its braking setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist with roll over protection, an emergency signal system with hill-start assist, a traction control system, and an electronic stability control program.

In my opinion, the Jetour X50 is an appealing first car option for both young professionals and smaller families. It is well-equipped for its price, boasts a premium look and feel inside and out, and makes for a versatile everyday vehicle.
