Mazda CX-90

Similar to its exterior design, the Mazda CX-90 Turbo Exclusive trim features a sophisticated-looking cabin finished in either white or tan, while the Turbo 8-Seater exudes a sportier feel with its blacked-out interior with silver accents. Its Nappa leather seats are plush and very ergonomic, even on long-distance trips. For elevated passenger comfort, the Turbo Exclusive trim also features second-row captain seats with a center console, cupholders, and dual USB-C ports—delivering a first-class-like riding experience.

Practicality-wise, the CX-90’s first and second rows are very roomy, while the third row has ample space for kids and smaller adult passengers. At the back, this full-size SUV comes with an expansive trunk that offers over 1,000 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded.

Up front, the driver is treated to a high-tech cockpit (with a Driver Personalization System) that consists of a 12.3-inch LCD instrument display, a 10.4-inch front windshield-projected heads-up display, as well as a leather-wrapped multi-control steering wheel and shift knob. Meanwhile, all passengers can enjoy a 12.3-inch LCD infotainment display with Mazda Connect, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity. This display is linked to a 12-speaker BOSE Sound System, which delivers high-quality sound acoustics around the cabin.

The Mazda CX-90’s full-size SUV design looks robust and elegant at the same time. It features a very bold-looking fascia, accentuated by a gloss black bar-type grille and sharp adaptive LED headlamps with LED DRLs and a high beam control function. The Turbo Exclusive comes with a body-coloured front bumper moulding, while the Turbo 8-Seater’s is finished in black for a sportier vibe. 

On the sides, the Turbo 8-Seater’s silhouette looks very sporty with its blacked-out mouldings, while the Turbo Exclusive leans more toward elegance, highlighted by its bright chrome signature fender garnish. The former is fitted with 21-inch silver metallic aluminum alloy wheels, while the latter features the 21-inch diamond cut counterparts for a classier overall appearance. 

Meanwhile, its bold personality is also very evident at the rear, highlighted by its angular LED combination lamps with passive collision signal, as well as a robust yet elegant-looking bumper. This SUV gets a power liftgate with height adjustment memory for more convenient loading and unloading of cargo. And, for more storage, it also has roof rails on top.

The Mazda CX-90 model line measures 5,120 mm in length, 1,994 mm in width, and 1,745 mm in height. This full-size SUV also comes with a 3,120-mm wheelbase and a 203-mm laden ground clearance, which contributes to its overall adaptability inside and outside the city.

The Mazda CX-90 model line comes with a Double Wishbone suspension at the front and a Multi-Link at the rear. This setup, along with Mazda’s Kinematic Posture Control feature, contributes to this full-size SUV’s confident handling on sharp turns and challenging twisty roads in the provinces. Equipped with an Off-Road Traction Assist, the CX-90 is also capable of taking on light off-road terrains. Meanwhile, in the city, it offers a supple and adaptable riding experience for everyone on board.

The Mazda CX-90 runs on a combination of a 3.3L Turbo e-SKYACTIV-G, in-line 6-cylinder engine, which delivers 284 PS of maximum power and 450 Nm of maximum torque, and a 48-volt hybrid system with a 0.33-kWh Lithium-Ion battery, which generates an additional 16.9 PS of electric motor output and 153 Nm of electric motor torque. This SUV utilizes Mazda’s I-ACTIV all-wheel drivetrain and comes mated to a SKYACTIV-DRIVE 8-speed automatic transmission system.

Additionally, the CX-90 is also equipped with multiple driving modes: Normal, Sport, Off-Road, and Towing. This full-size SUV accelerates effortlessly out on the open road. It makes light work of quick overtakes on free-flowing highways. Its cabin also remains refined and peaceful even at high speeds, thanks to its impressive NVH suppression system. Aside from that, it delivers respectable fuel economy for its class, as its powertrain is supported by Mazda’s I-STOP technology.

The Mazda CX-90 model line is equipped with the brand’s I-ACTIVSENSE, which includes a Mazda Radar Cruise Control, front and rear smart brake support, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, front and rear cross traffic alert, cruising and traffic support, driver monitoring system, and a driver attention alert. It also gets a 360-degree view monitor (with see-through view), front and rear parking sensors, and a total of seven airbags, among others.

This full-size SUV comes with front and rear ventilated disc brakes supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, dynamic stability control, and hill descent control.

The Mazda CX-90 occupies a niche segment in the Philippine market. Hence, it won’t appeal to every local consumer. However, it is a compelling option for discerning buyers looking to enter the world of luxury driving while prioritizing reliability, practicality, and value for money.
