BMW R 1300 GS Design
The BMW R 1300 GS looks like a more modern and smarter version of the R 1250 GS. Yet, it still carries its predecessor’s confident, rugged personality wherever it goes. It features a hypermodern-looking front end illuminated by an LED matrix headlight assembly with daytime riding lights. It also comes with a transparent adjustable windscreen.
On the sides, it flaunts sharp fairings and rugged monotone finishes. This touring enduro runs on sporty-looking aluminum cast wheels (front: 19-inch, rear: 17-inch). Meanwhile, its bold back end is illuminated by a rectangular LED taillight.
Meanwhile, riders have access to a TFT display equipped with a BMW Motorrad Connectivity, a smartphone charging compartment with a USB socket, heated grips, as well as a hand protection with integrated indicator lamps. Its saddle is plush and can offer top-notch ergonomics for you and your pillion even on long rides. Additionally, for enhanced pillion comfort, this bike also comes with a functional sport grab handle bridge.
In terms of dimensions, the BMW R 1300 GS measures 2,212 mm in length, 1,000 mm in width, 1,406 mm in overall height, and 850 mm in seat height. This touring enduro comes with a 1,518-mm wheelbase.

In terms of suspension, the BMW R 1300 GS utilizes a BMW Motorrad EVO Telelever at the front, while a BMW Motorrad EVO Paralever at the rear. This setup is credited for this touring enduro’s impeccable versatility. Off-road, the R 1300 GS is durable, sharp, and stable–making light work of rocky and muddy trails. Meanwhile, on the highway, you and your pillion will be able to comfortably cover miles with this touring enduro. On top of this, you’ll be delighted to know that it is light and maneuverable through city traffic and narrow streets (if you plan on using this as your daily ride within the Metro).

BMW R 1300 GS Engine & Fuel Consumption
The BMW R 1300 GS is powered by a 1,300-cc air/liquid-cooled, four-stroke flat twin engine that delivers a maximum power output of 107 kW (145 hp) and a maximum torque of 149 Nm. This touring enduro runs on a 6-speed claw-shifted (manual transmission) gearbox.
At low speeds, the R 1300 GS’ engine feels refined and sensible. But, as you go up the rev range, you will soon discover how lively and punchy its engine can get on the highway. In addition, you’ll also enjoy an immersive and very emotional cruising experience with this touring enduro thanks to its engine’s satisfying roar. And, with plenty of torque available, steep roads and moderate hill climbs pose little challenge for this touring enduro.
